OK, I've missed most of last week's episode of BSG. This week I'm wondering where Mrs. Tigh and the President's assistant are. (If you know and have my e-mail address, please kindly clue me in. Thank you.)
And just out of curiosity, does anyone else find Commander Adama .... I'm not even sure what I find him actually. Slightly annoying? Unapproachable? Weird? I don't know. I guess I just don't 'get' him. (He's no Lorne Greene which, in this BSG universe, probably isn't a bad thing.)
Lifeless. That might be it. For all his supposed emotion (crying in the morgue) and "love" for his crew I just don't get any 'oomph' from him. He's flat or something. I understand that a commander must put on a strong front but I don't think I'm even sensing strength from him. (What I am sensing is that I'm putting way too much thought into a TV show. Ah well. :) )

Olmos' Adama is a walking character sketch in post-traumatic stress disorder. See also: Thrace, Kara. Most of the lead characters are the way they are because they're demoralized and inwardly convinced that a life of anxiety and constant suspicion (the foxy yeoman serving drinks COULD BE A CYLON! that coffee you're drinking COULD BE A CYLON! You think that's air you're breathing now? IT'S A CYLON!) is no way to live, and yet it's the only life they have available to them. These people have no home and are beyond hope. They can't feel anything. Putting any sort of time into reflection or emotion is time they spend with their guard down. And there could be Cylons.
In the sense of what we consider life? Yeah, they're all lifeless. These people are already dead, and in the Jem'Hadar tradition, they're fighting for their own lives. Or however that line goes. I only wish the overriding plot of the series were a tenth as interesting as the Dominion War on DS9 was, and that the show lived up to the sort of acting they're getting out of the three main leads: the President, Adama and Thrace. (And I sincerely hope they put the monkey-doctor and his annoying brain wench out the nearest airlock REALLY SOON since they ruin the whole show.)

I know what you mean about Baltar. I keep making up different characters and how they'd unmask his duplicity. I can't wait for him to be 'found out'. Hadn't thought about the air-lock though. ;-)
